The golfers tee off and play a scramble and on each hole two scores are combined for the team score. One of the scores will the low score among the four golfers using their regular golf balls and the other score comes from the individual using the pink ball!
Ultimatley, the golfer selected by the team to use the pink ball on the particular hole is under pressure to come through for the team. As noted, the pink ball rotates among the four players in the group. For instance, Player A uses it on the first hole, Player B on the second hole, C on the third hole, then Player D on the fourth hole, and then back to A, etc.
